About the event

We warmly invite you to ‘Catholics in Finance – Building God’s Kingdom in the Finance Sector’.

With London being the financial capital of the UK, and many Catholic young adults working in the finance sector, we’re excited to explore how we find and serve God in what can feel like a secular career.

We are delighted to be welcoming Richard Solomon, Chief Financial Officer of St Mary’s University (Twickenham) as the speaker for this event.

Richard is the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise and the Chief Financial Officer at St Mary’s University.  Prior to joining St Mary’s in 2018, Richard had an extensive career as a Chartered Accountant in the City.  At Deloittes he helped develop the firm’s financial services audit practice, before moving to Ernst & Young as a consulting and audit partner.  He joined the Royal Bank of Scotland in the immediate aftermath of the financial crisis, where he became Chief Accountant and for eight years had an executive role during one of the most complex banking restructures in the UK.

Richard is also the Honorary Treasurer of Providence Row, Britain’s oldest Catholic charity serving the homeless and destitute.  He is also a member of the pontifical Centesimus Annus Foundation, a charity and think tank which promotes Catholic Social Teaching. Richard and his wife Patricia are married with five children and live in Pinner, North London.
