RESONATE: Faith, Fellowship & Fitness

Details

About the event

Are you interested in fitness, becoming more spiritually disciplined… or just trying to get your life together a little bit?

What if your physical discipline could actually transform your spiritual life?

This month at Resonate, Sophia, founder of The Catholic Gym Society, takes on the link between fitness and faith, and why discipline in one should transform the other.

Drawing from Scripture and Catholic tradition, Sophia Rumpus will explore the deeper meaning of the body, not just as something to train, but as something sacred. She’ll unpack how discipline in fitness can shape discipline in prayer, and how routine, sacrifice, and perseverance form us not just physically, but spiritually.

Expect a practical and inspiring look at how habits, lifestyle, and even the way we train can become a witness to Christ. We’ll also explore the importance of community and accountability, and why we’re not meant to grow alone, in the gym or in the spiritual life.

If you’ve ever felt the tension between wanting to be disciplined and actually living it out, this one’s for you.

BIOGRAPHY: Sophia, founder of the young adults group and CIC Catholic Gym Society.

An active gym-goer for over a decade. I believe faith and fitness share commonalities by fostering behaviours of discipline, self control and perseverance. I believe that if you strengthen your mind, your body will follow. I therefore have a special dedication to fasting, undertaking and coaching extended water-only fasts, including an annual 10-day water fast as a way to strengthen abstinence and combine both physical and mental endurance with spiritual renewal. I live by a warrior mentality with a readiness to embrace challenges and grow through discipline
