A risk assessment is a key document to ensure the safe planning of the event or group. It involves carrying out a careful assessment of each activity in a group or event, deciding how any risks will be reduced and the action you intend to take.

Top tip
Ask the place to which you are taking a trip for a copy of their risk assessment. All public spaces have a risk assessment completed, so you can ask for a copy and just add to it the specifics for your group, i.e. transport to and from the venue.
